Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, as well as your enjoyment of BLAG. We respectfully request you familiarise yourself with our privacy policy, as it sets out how we collect and use your information when you visit our sites and use our services.

Information We Hold On You

BLAG only collects and holds information on you relevant to your subscription, membership and / or purchase.

We require information about you in order to create a subscriber or member account for you and / or to be able to provide a service for you. This information processed must be: lawful, fair and transparent; for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes; adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary; accurate, kept up to date and stored no longer than necessary.

 

For example:

www.BLAG.london subscribers and members: we collect your contact name, email address, phone numbers and billing and / or shipping addresses in order to action and provide your subscription / membership, capture your payment(s) securely and keep you informed of our service.

You can see and update your details in the ‘Update Details’ section of your Account when signed in.

 

www.BLAG.shop, www.BLAGmagazine.com and www.WeAreBLAG.com customers: we collect your contact name, email, phone numbers, your billing and shipping addresses, phone number and order details so we can process, action and deliver your order.

 

We do not have access to, hold or retain your payment information. This is managed by our approved and compliant third party providers Stripe (for credit and debit transactions) and / or PayPal on our behalf.

 

We retain your information listed above, with your approval for the duration of your use of our services or as long as necessary to carry out these functions.

 

By providing information to us for your subscription, membership or purchase: You confirm as the information provider (“you”) that: the data subject (“you” or if your subscription is a gift for someone else, that they) has freely, specifically and reversibly given consent to provide us with such information including legitimate payment and contact information. The processing is necessary for the following: for us to create a contract with you, to comply with legal obligation and to protect your interests and for legitimate business interests.

 

Opting-in Email Marketing Consent

Our email marketing complies with the Data Protection Act Regulation 22

You have consented to receive marketing materials from us via email by acknowledging the opt-in box, either when purchasing BLAG subscriptions, products and / or signing up for our mailing list. Please also read our Cookie Policy (ADD LINK), as this contains important information.

How BLAG uses your information

Our customer data is securely processed as listed above and stored in the following ways by our third party providers:

For mailing list subscribers: On our behalf by MailChimp and Business Catalyst. These services employ the use of cookies, please see our Cookie Policy for details.

For product customers: On our behalf by Shopify and MailChimp. Please see cookies details below.

For www.BLAG.london members and subscribers: On our behalf by Business Catalyst.

By subscribing, purchasing and / or opting-in to our mailing list, you also acknowledge you have read and agree with our Terms & Conditions of Service.

Under no circumstances are MailChimp, Shopify or Business Catalyst authorised to use your data outside of our instructions, the services they provide and are all law abiding services compliant with GDPR and relevant data privacy laws.

 

It is vital that we securely store and process your data in order to provide our services detailed on each BLAG site. We will only process relevant data and ensure regular review so this remains accurate, for example we do not retain information for those who have resubscribed. Your data is used to process your purchase or keep you informed of your purchase or BLAG news related emails. We may use your email address to send you service-related notices (including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication via postal mail.)

If you communicate with us via email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses. We will also monitor any emails sent to us, including file attachments, for viruses or malicious software. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send is within the bounds of the law.

We do not share or sell information about you with any parties not associated with the functioning of the service you have bought or requested.

We reserve the right to share data when necessary with law enforcement authorities who may require information, for example: in connection with investigations.

 

Unsubscribing / Opting-out of our Mailing Lists

We use third party providers including, MailChimp and Business Catalyst, to deliver our email newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. MailChimp make their Privacy Policy details available to the public on their site, we have also included relevant details here.

 

You can opt-out of marketing and cookies, please see below for instructions.

We do not use data from individuals who do not purchase from our business or do not sign up for services.

 

To unsubscribe from our mailing list, either click the unsubscribe link on any of our marketing emails or log into your BLAG account (www.BLAG.london, www.BLAG.shop, www.BLAGmagazine or www.WeAreBLAG.com account and change your preferences.)

We are unable to add you back to our lists, therefore should you like to, please do subscribe again at any time.

Please note if you unsubscribe from our MailChimp list, they hold your information in order to prevent you from being subscribed again in any error. We do however keep records up-to-date by deleting unused lists approximately three times a year.

Right To Be Informed / Right of Data Portability

You may email us at anytime to request details of any and all data we may hold on you, we will share this with you only if you use an email address which matches our records. We will have one month to provide this information. Please contact us via this form.

If you are an account holder, subscriber, invited member, one-off customer or have signed up for our newsletter, at your request, your information will be permanently removed from our and third party systems.

 

Customer Service Communication

We may contact you with any communication considered routine customer service, for example but not limited to: information regarding your subscriptions or purchases, updates to policies and / or terms and conditions of service, service interruptions, delivery details, receipts and / or order confirmations. This type of communication is not considered direct marketing. Our communication will sent via email, however if you bought your product and used only your phone number for communication in the past, you may receive a call or text message.

 

In order to be reminded about renewing a www.BLAG.london subscription via email, please agree to accept marketing from us. We will never call to sell you anything via telephone.

Profiles

We do not build customer profiles or require any further details about you, you are free to enjoy our services under our Terms and Conditions.

 

Security

Log Data Disclosure: We use third party services to help maintain the security and performance of our BLAG sites. To deliver this service they automatically process information such as the IP addresses, geographical information (not specific addresses), web browsers, source, referral, email campaign, device and operating systems of visitors to all BLAG websites.

 

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, our providers follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

All of our sites use SSL.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

 

Other

 

Age: Please do not subscribe or use our services if you are aged under 18 years old.

 

Other than subscriptions or memberships, single purchase and opt-out customers data is not stored. This is archived on Shopify, as soon as an order is completed.

 

Made-To-Order And Print Publication Purchases: our production and shipping team have temporary confidential access to your name and address in order to and purely to be able to ship your product. They do not store any data.

 

International transfers: Any international transfers of data are completed in compliance with relevant Data Protection Legislation. Your personal data is only transferred outside of the EU in compliance with the conditions for transfer set out in Chapter V of the GDPR.

 

We do not use any spyware or any similar covert surveillance software that downloads to a user’s device and tracks your activities without your knowledge.

 

Breach Notification: Should a data breach occur, we will quickly assess and make a report to the Information Commissioners Office within 72 hours, if it be required. We will notify customers with recommendations if required.
